Summary: Began publishing comics in 1931, organized a solo exhibition in 1935 at Tsinghua University 清华大学 where he was student at the time. During the same year he served as art director for the magazine _Heaven. Earth. Human_ 《天·地·人》. Studied abroad in the US in 1936, published some illustrations in Philadelphia. Later moved into doing set design for plays and operas, serving as an instructor and administrator at the Shanghai Theatre Academy 上海戏剧学 beginning in 1952.
